We’ve seen the Collector roaming free on a previous occasion, in the Owl Beast’s nightmare, on a DIFFERENT Titan. There was similarly-broken disk with the Titan Trappers, meaning that the Collector had been trapped and freed once before. When King frees the Collector, the disk that had been holding them cracked in two.
